The Center of Excellence for Educator Preparation and Innovation participated in the annual Batesburg-Leesville Halloween Festival this year. The festival, which was held on Main Street on October 31, 2023, included local businesses, community organizations, and residents. Families received plenty of Halloween treats to enjoy  as well as information about Voorhees University and the EPI Center. EPI Center members Dr. Ericka Hursey, Strategic Initiative and Programs Manager; Boudre Thomas, Student Services Coordinator; and Carolyn Gass, Chicago SEED Administrative Coordinator along with Voorhees University Student Advisor Kenntrail Grooms coordinated the activities and the student group. Voorhees students played games with the young trick-or-treaters and did face painting, making this event a success for the entire community.Â
