EPI Team Attends Inaugural Educator Preparation, Policy, and Leadership Symposium

The Center of Excellence for Educator Preparation and Innovation continues to advance its work across the state and nation. EPI Team Members attended the April inaugural 2024 National Symposium for Educator Preparation, Policy, and Leadership in Chicago, Illinois. The National Center for Teacher Residencies sponsors the symposium.

As the EPI Center continues to embrace and employ continuous improvement science strategies; refined, data-informed revisions to the Center’s residency policies are underway. The EPI Team is benefiting from the knowledge and content expertise of distinguished scholars, such as Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings, a theorist and teacher educator. According to EPI Center Director Dr. Tondaleya Green Jackson, Ladson-Billings’ book “The Dreamkeepers: Successful Teachers of African-American Children” is a grounding, frequently cited text in teacher education.
