POSITION: Improvement Science Propels Critical Teaching (IMPACT) Pathway Coaching Teacher

DEPARTMENT: Voorhees Center of Excellence for Educator Preparation and Innovation (EPI Center) 

WORK SCHEDULE: 30 Hours Per Month (virtual & in-person) 

TERM/COMPENSATION: 9 months; $10K Annual 


• Three or more years of direct classroom instruction (K-12 or higher-education) 

• Documented commitment to excellence in teaching exhibited through extensive content knowledge and the implementation of a variety of effective teaching practices 

  • Must be a South Carolina certified ELA educator. 
  • Must be a former IMPACT Pathway Fellow who successfully completed the program. 
  • Must have earned a micro-credential via Voorhees’ University. 
  • Must be knowledgeable of IMPACT Pathway program deliverables. 

Applicants with expertise in diversity and equity related to education and experience working with diverse populations of students are preferred. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Under supervision of the Senior Clinical Faculty Advisor for the Voorhees Center of Excellence for Educator Preparation and Innovation (EPI Center), 

IMPACT Pathway Coaching Teachers will also be responsible for providing self-selected program level support to current IMPACT Pathway Fellows. Support will be provided under the guidance of the IMPACT Pathway Clinical Faculty Advisor. Support capacities include presentations, group chats, and question and answer sessions on each of the IMPACT Pathway deliverables. They will also provide support to fellows who may need assistance finding a resource or service and using Voorhees’ University’s Micro-credential Platform technology. IMPACT Pathway Alumni Support for Project Impact will self-select support channels in advance and commit to being available in that capacity for new IMPACT Pathway Fellows. The role reports to the Director, Center of Excellence for Educator Preparation and Innovation. 

  • Recruit Fellows for the IMPACT Pathway program. 
  • Assists with establishing protocols for scheduling and operations relative to coaching support and assesses periodically to refine based on the individual needs of the EPI Fellows. 
  • Supports the developmental enhancement of effective classroom management knowledge, skills, and behaviors. 
  • Supports the implementation of Fellows’ individualized Improvement Science Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) projects. 
  • Participates in professional development offerings and trainings, including pursuing micro-credentials.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to be self-directed, organized, and collaborative. 
  • Attend all required coaching training sessions. 
  • Provide self-selected program level coaching support to current IMPACT Pathway Fellows. 
  • Assist fellows in navigating platforms, resources, and services. 
  • Assist fellows in being successful in the program by attending all meetings, events, and submitting program deliverables. 
  • Provide presentations on experience completing IMPACT Pathway deliverables.
