Ms. Sonia Vaughn

Sonia Vaughn is a strategic planner, coordinator, and leader with superior interpersonal and time management skills. She has an outstanding record of managing multiple tasks in fast-paced environments. She is an Executive Professional with 10-plus years of success providing administrative support. 

Employed by the Center of Excellence for Educator Preparation and Innovation at Voorhees University since 2021, she works as an administrative coordinator. Ms. Vaughn provides administrative support to the director and staff of the EPI Center. She manages a complex calendar to ensure prioritization of meetings, appointments, and visitors; coordinates special projects and prepares travel itineraries and expense reports; and performs additional duties as requested by the leadership team. As Ms. Vaughn is called upon to perform various duties, she consistently demonstrates top-quality job performance with excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills. She is an organized individual experienced with streamlining processes, managing schedules, reviewing correspondence, and overseeing inventory.

Some of her accomplishments are assisting with the development and start-up of a non-profit organization to help young people fulfill their dreams in, primarily but not limited to, the field of arts; and planning and executing a distribution system for over $375,000 in partner donations, serving hundreds of families, as a part of the President of the United States Interfaith Community Service Outreach Program.

For 17 years, Ms. Vaughn was an administrative coordinator at Benedict College in Columbia. She successfully managed all budgets for assigned units totaling approximately $2.5 million; prepared monthly and quarterly budget reports, balance sheets, and expense reports using Excel spreadsheets; managed departmental expenditures to ensure proper allocation of budgeted funds and reconciled monthly expenses. 

She is proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Publisher, SharePoint, and Word; and specialized database management systems Jenzabar, Poise, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.  

Ms. Vaughn earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Business Administration from Benedict College. She is a member of the National Association of Business Women.
