As part of the EPI Center’s IMPACT Virtual Instructional Coaching program, these leaders, Teneshia Bridges, Jessica McCormick, and Dr. Wanda Green-Adams, have reached the pinnacle of their professions, securing elite certifications and national school designations.
Teneshia Bridges (Lead Magnet Teacher, Conder Elementary Arts Integration Magnet School): Bridges played a pivotal role at Conder Elementary in Richland School District Two, as the school was named a Nationally Certified Demonstration Magnet School by Magnet Schools of America. Her expertise in arts integration has turned the campus into a national model for creative excellence.
Jessica McCormick (Assistant Principal, Mellichamp Elementary): McCormick recently reached a career milestone by earning National Board Certification in Literacy. This rigorous credential ensures that students at Mellichamp Elementary in the Orangeburg County School District have access to the highest level of literacy instruction and leadership.
Dr. Wanda Green-Adams (Curriculum Specialist, Calhoun County School District): Under Dr. Green-Adams’ leadership, Calhoun County High School was named an inaugural SCABSE Demonstration School. The honor, awarded by the South Carolina Alliance of Black School Educators, establishes her campus as a state model for equity and leadership.
These educators are completers of the Education, Innovation, and Research (EIR/IMPACT) program. This initiative demonstrates that when educators receive high-level coaching, its benefits can impact the entire district.
The EPI Center, in partnership with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, is bridging the gap for educators in South Carolina and beyond. By guiding teachers through the grueling three-year National Board Certification process and easing the financial burden, the partnership is making the profession’s most respected credential more accessible.
In South Carolina, National Board Certification is not just a mark of prestige; it is a pathway to higher salaries and long-term career incentives, ensuring that the best educators stay in the classroom where they are needed most.
