Through the IMPACT (Improvement Science Propels Achievement and Critical Teaching) program, educators learn to identify and address real classroom challenges using research, data, and rapid improvement cycles (Plan–Do–Study–Act). Working with advisors and coaches, fellows conduct action research and develop White Papers that document effective strategies for improving literacy at the classroom, school, and district levels.
The culmination of the work of the IMPACT program is captured in the IMPACT White Papers, which serve as a repository for teacher-led action research. These papers detail the qualitative and quantitative results of the PDSA cycles, showcasing how specific interventions improved literacy for both struggling and gifted learners. By completing the program, IMPACT educators emerge as experts in applying research and data to drive long-term gains in teaching efficacy, ultimately strengthening the cognitive and affective development of students across their districts.
